Salsa Ranchera
Salsa Ranchera is one of the most common & loved salsas of Mexico, for good reason! This basic, tasty recipe can have the heat dialled up or down depending on how you like it & it's texture can be smooth, chunky or anywhere in between to suit if you're scooping, dipping or pouring! It's the perfect recipe to put your own twist on & enjoy exactly how you want to.

Ingredients
- 4 tomatos
- 2 jalapeno julienne
- 1/2 onion diced
- 1 garlic clove
- 100ml oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
Cooking Instructions
- Chop the garlic finely & dice the onion, 2 tomatoes & jalapeños into medium-sized pieces.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the onions & cook for 2 minutes, then add the garlic & jalapeños.
- Blend the two extra tomatoes with a little water.
- Once the onions are translucent, add the diced tomatoes. After 2 minutes, pour in the blended tomatoes.
- Season with salt & pepper, cover the pan to retain moisture & reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Stir the salsa, taste for seasoning & adjust salt if needed. Simmer for another 5-10 minutes on low heat.
