Salsa Verde con Totopos
This is the kind of salsa you’ll find on almost every table in México, especially in taquerías where a bowl of totopos & fresh salsa are the unofficial starters of… well, everything. This version is simple, delicious & ready for dipping, splashing & pouring!

Ingredients
- 200g Totopos from La Tortillería
- 1 tsp olive oil
- ½ white onion
- 1–2 jalapeños
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 cup canned tomatillos, drained
- Juice of ½ lime
- Handful fresh cilantro
- ½ tsp chicken stock powder (optional)
- Salt & pepper to taste
Cooking Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan. Add onion, jalapeño & garlic. Let them char for about 8–10 minutes until softened & slightly blistered.
- Transfer to a blender with the tomatillos, lime juice, cilantro, stock powder, salt & pepper.
- Blend until smooth or slightly chunky, however you like it. Adjust seasoning.
- Serve with totopos.
