This vibrant green salsa is a true champion, adding a zingy kick to everything from tacos & chilaquiles to stews. Don't let the mention of tomatillos scare you off! While fresh ones might be a bit rarer, canned versions work just as well, ensuring you can still create quality homemade salsa. So, roll up your sleeves, grab your favourite pan & get those salsa bowls ready! Salsa Verde is the perfect way to add a touch of Mexico to any meal.



30 minutes


  • 1 tin tomatillos
  • 2 jalapenos
  • 1/4 onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/4 bunch coriander
  • ½ tsp rock salt

Cooking Instructions

  1. Open the tin of tomatillos, strain them, & wash them with water.
  2. In a pot add the tomatillos, jalapenos, onion, & garlic & cover them with water.
  3. Cook them in medium high temperature until they are soft & well cooked.
  4. Place rest of the ingredients in a blender with what we just cooked & add a little bit water from the pot to help the salsa blends well.
  5. Check if it needs more salt.
